Contempt Petitions filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the contemnors / Respondents herein for their deliberate and willful disobedience of the order of this Court dated 21-07-2025 in Writ Petition (MD).Nos.16935 and 16936 of 2025 amounting to contempt of Court under Article 215 of the Constitution of India read with section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971. 2. This Court, while taking cognizance of the Contempt Petitions, has ordered for issuance of statutory notice to the respondents. Pursuant to the statutory notice, except the first respondent, other respondents are present before this Court.

The first respondent has filed Sub Application Nos.80 and 81 of 2026 stating that since the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is inaugurating new Buildings in various Government Arts and Science Colleges today, she has to make certain arrangements and be present in the function and she is not in a position to appear before this Court. Therefore, she seeks to dispense with her personal appearance before this Court today.
4. Considering the reasons stated in the supporting affidavit, the Sub Applications filed by the first respondent are allowed and the personal appearance of the first respondent is dispensed with.
5. The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents, by referring to G.O.(4D)No.06, Higher Education (D1) Department, dated 14.02.2026, submits that the orders of this Court passed in W.P.(MD)Nos.16935 and 16936 of 2025 have not been complied with and all the terminal benefits due to the petitioners have been settled. The learned counsel for the petitioners has also confirmed 3/5
the same.
6. Recording the said submission, these Contempt Petitions are closed.
