On the basis that the property in S.F.No.220/2 at Kolumbakondan village was owned originally by the petitioner's grandmother, Angammal, the petitioner had applied for inclusion of the names of the petitioner and other legal heirs in the patta. The said request was rejected by order dated 22.04.2025.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner referred to the impugned order and pointed out that the Tahsildar has erroneously entered a finding that daughters are not entitled to a share in the family property until 25.03.1989.

3. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for the respondent. He submits that the order records that the name of Sakti Vadivel was entered in the UDR records. Since it appears that the matter pertains to an alleged UDR error, he submits that the petitioner should approach the District Revenue Officer.

4. From the documents on record, it appears that the petitioner is complaining of an error that took place during the UDR period. Therefore, it is necessary that the petitioner approaches the District Revenue Officer and not the Tahsildar. The findings recorded by the Tahsildar are, however, beyond his scope of authority and also erroneous. Therefore, by recording that these findings shall not stand in the way of the petitioner's request, this Writ Petition is disposed of by leaving it open to the petitioner to approach the District Revenue Officer.
