respondents to settle the petitioners benefit of encashment of Earned Leave (135 days - Rs.1,57,978) surrendered by petitioners before the respondents from the year 2010 to till the date of retirement of the petitioner with interest at 6 percent as per the 1998 Wage Settlement Effect under Section 12 (3) of ID Act, 1947.

ORDER
The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking a Mandamus for disbursement of the surrender leave salary along with interest.
2. Though the petitioner has retired from service on 29.02.2024, the surrender leave salary has not been disbursed to the writ petitioner, despite giving representation to the respondents on 02.09.2025, for disbursing the said benefits. Since the representation has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed. 2/4
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to release the eligible surrender leave salary to the writ petitioner along with interest at the rate of 6% per annum, from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 26.11.2025 NCC : yes/no Index : yes/no Internet : yes/no pnn 3/4
