This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to conduct an inquiry on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 12.11.2025, in the matter of disbursement of compensation for acquisition of the petitioner's land comprised in S.No.219/2A at Suriyur Village, Thiruveumbur Taluk, Trichy District, after affording an opportunity to the fourth respondent.
2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the fourth respondent had illegally obtained the sale deed in respect of the property which was acquired for a River Link Project. Therefore, an enquiry is required to be conducted based on the petitioner's representation. 2/5
3. Per contra, learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that during the lifetime of the petitioner's father, a registered Power of Attorney was executed on 02.03.2009 in favour of one Prema, who, in turn, executed a sale deed in favour of the fourth respondent.
4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
5. The grievance of the petitioner is that, without his knowledge, the property which stood in the name of his father was alienated on the basis of a Power of Attorney said to have been executed on his behalf. However, the petitioner contends that he was not aware of the said proceedings.
6. If at all the petitioner has any grievance regarding the sale, he has to approach the competent Civil Court for cancellation of the said sale deed. Once an enquiry has been conducted and the compensation amount has been disbursed to the owner of the property, there cannot be a re-enquiry for disbursement of the said compensation amount by the concerned authority.

7. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
