ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the 1st to 3rd respondents to accord necessary police protection to the petitioner's life and property at T.S.No.1018/4, Adiyanuthu Village, Dindigul East Taluk, Dindigul District, as sought with representation lastly dated 25.10.2025.

2. This writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage, after dispensing with the notice on the private respondent.

3. Heard the learned counsel on either side, and have perused the materials available on record.

4. It is the case of the petitioner that the property comprised in T.S. No.1018/4, Adiyanuthu Village, Dindigul East Taluk, Dindigul District, to an extent of 18,385 sq. ft., belongs to Begampur Mosque and Darga. The Tamil Nadu Wakf Board, a statutory body, had, on 02.05.2025, through newspaper 2/6

publication, notified its intention to lease out the vacant possession of the said property in accordance with the Wakf Act and the lease rules.

The petitioner appeared for the enquiry before the Tamil Nadu Wakf Board on 24.06.2025, and having emerged as the successful bidder, the Tamil Nadu Wakf Board, through its Chief Executive Officer, was pleased to issue an order sanctioning the lease in favor of the petitioner for the above property for a period of three years. Despite this, when development activities were undertaken for setting up a petrol bunk, certain unknown anti-social and rowdy elements have unnecessarily attempted to interfere with the petitioner's enjoyment of the property and have threatened to cause damage to his life and property. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 25.10.2025 to the 1st to 3rd respondents, but no action has been taken. Hence, the present petition.

6. Mr.A.S.Abul Kalaam Azad, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, submitted that the police are always inclined to provide protection if due police protection is sought for the purpose of conducting a survey by the revenue authorities concerned.

Per contra, Mr.I.Kowser Nissar, learned counsel for the petitioner, submitted that disturbances concerning the possession of the property are occurring on a daily basis from various persons and therefore, it is imperative for the respondent police to consider the petitioner's representation and pass appropriate orders.

8. In view of the above, the respondent police is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.10.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
