ORDER
The above writ petition has been filed for the following relief:- "Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondent herein to consider the application of the petitioner for changing thelocation of electricity service connection standing in the name of the petitioner vide service No.05-272-004-183 from the lands in Survey No.642/4 to the lands in Survey No.584/2 both in seemandapatti - Palakanoothu Village, Dindigul District and effect the change within the time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court. "
2. Mr.S.Deenadhaylan, learned Standing Counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent.
3. By consent of both the parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/6

The brief facts as set out in the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition reads as follows:- The petitioner would submit that the land in S.No.642/4 in Palakanoothu Village, Dindigul District, belongs to himself and his paternal uncle, namely Shanmugavelu. He would submit that he had obtained electricity service connection to the subject land in service connection bearing No.05-272-004-183 and the same also stands in his name. Thereafter, he had executed a sale deed in respect of his share of the subject land, excluding the electricity service connection, in favour of his paternal aunt namely Mrs.Mangai under a registered Sale Deed dated 05.03.2025 bearing Doc.No.848 of 2025.

He submits that he has been in possession of the land in S.No.584/2, Palakanoothu Village, Dindigul District and therefore, he intends to transfer the aforesaid service connection bearing No. 05-272-004-183 from S.No.642/4 to S.No.584/2. In this connection, he submitted an application on 07.04.2025 before the respondents along with necessary documents including the NOC obtained from his paternal aunt. However, the same has not been considered to date and hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

6. The learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents would submit that the application submitted by the petitioner dated 07.04.2025 will be considered and orders will be passed within the time stipulated by this Court.

In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the respondents are directed to consider the application of the petitioner dated 07.04.2025 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties, if any. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
8. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
