O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 18% per annum, for the period of delay from 01.04.2024 to 24.08.25, in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal and pension benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity, Encashment of Leaves and commutated value of pension, within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court and without affecting his right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would restrict his claim of interest at the rate of 6% per annum.

4. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated terminal and pension benefits payable to the petitioner from the date of his entitlement till the date of his payment within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
