O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 18% per annum, for the period of delay from 01.03.24 to 24.08.25, in paying the amounts paid towards his terminal/ pension benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity, Encashment of Leaves and commutated value of pension, within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court and without affecting his right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits.

2. Considering the admitted fact that there has been a delay in payment, the petitioner is entitled to statutory interest as provided under law.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would restrict his claim of interest at the rate of 6% per annum.

4. In view of the same, the writ petition stands disposed of. The respondents are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated terminal and pension benefits payable to the petitioner from the date of his entitlement till the date of his payment within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
