O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first to fourth respondents to cancel the pattas bearing Patta Nos.2843 and 3188 in respect of the properties comprised in Survey Nos.131/3, 131/4A, 131/5A, 131/6, 131/7, 132/1 and 131/4B, situated at Thiruvelangudi Village, Karaikudi Taluk, Sivagangai District, and to issue a Joint Patta in favour of the legal heirs of late Valli, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 15.11.2025.

With the consent of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first to fourth respondents, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself, dispensing with notice to the fifth and sixth respondents, as no adverse orders are proposed to be passed against them. 3. The case of the petitioner is that the subject properties originally belonged to the petitioner's maternal grandmother. The petitioner, along with others, acquired the said properties by way of succession. For more than fifty years, the petitioner's family has been in continuous possession and enjoyment of the said properties.

4. While the petitioner's family members were verifying the revenue records for the purpose of dividing the family properties, they came to know that a portion of the said properties had been unlawfully transferred in the names of third parties, resulting in the issuance of wrongful pattas bearing Patta Nos.2843 and 3188, without any notice to them.

5. Hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 15.11.2025 seeking cancellation of the aforesaid pattas and issuance of a joint patta in the names of the petitioner's family members. The officials have not taken any steps to consider the petitioner's request. Therefore, the petitioner was constrained to file the present Writ Petition. Page No. 3 of 6

6. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the first to fourth respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 15.11.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the third respondent within a period of twelve weeks.

Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.11.2025 on its merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The third respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner, the private respondents and any other interested parties who may be affected by the decision. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
