ORDER

The petitioner had applied for a patta in respect of lands falling within the purview of the Tamil Nadu Levy of Ryotwari Assessment on Freehold Lands Act, 1972. Therefore, the settlement officer had forwarded the petitioner's request to the Commissioner of Land Administration for consideration. The present writ petition relates thereto.

2. Learned Additional Government Pleader accepts notice for both the respondents. He submits that the Commissioner of Land Administration would consider the request and pass orders on merits within four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

3. Accordingly, without expressing any opinion on the merits, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the Commissioner of Land Administration to consider and dispose of the petitioner's request for patta within four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
