O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent to expedite the investigation in Crime No. 55 of 2024, dated 17.02.2024 and to file the Final Report within a stipulated time in accordance with law.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner herein, a case was registered in Crime No.55 of 2024, on dated 17.02.2024 by the respondent police for the offences under Sections 457 and 427 of IPC, (Sections 331 and 324 of BNSS) for occurrence that happened on 17.02.2024.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner further submitted that the petitioner is a hereditary trustee of a temple, namely, Esanoor Arulmigu Siruvalinga Ayyanar Thirukovil, which is situated at Sivagangai District, for nearly 353 years. On 17.02.2024, the lock was broken-open by damaging the walls and name board (Kalvettu), worth about Rs. 40,000/- and the petitioner made a call to 100 by mentioning the name of the accused and thereafter, the case was registered in Crime No.55 of Page No. 2 of 4

2024, dated 17.02.2024 for the alleged offences under Sections 457 and 427 of IPC, (Sections 331 and 324 of BNSS) but, till date no charge sheet has been filed by the respondent police. Hence, this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), Mr.K.Sakthi Kumar, submitted that the investigation has already been completed and the final report will be filed within one month.

4. In view of the same, this Court directs the respondent police to file the final report before the jurisdictional Magistrate within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
