ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to defreeze the bank accounts bearing Account Nos.146310105042 and 1463101013161 on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 22.11.2025.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that on 20.03.2023, the 2nd respondent police arrested the petitioner's son, along with others, alleging their involvement in the illegal sale of ganja. In connection with the said occurrence, an FIR in Crime No.45 of 2023 came to be registered against the petitioner's son and others. For the purpose of safeguarding income and availing a gold loan, the 1st petitioner opened a savings bank account with the 3rd respondent Bank, bearing Account No.146310105042, and the 2nd petitioner, who is the wife of the 1st petitioner, also opened an account bearing Account No.1463101013161.

3. In connection with the alleged occurrence, the 2nd respondent police erroneously froze both the petitioners' bank accounts. On 27.08.2024, the petitioner's son and the other accused persons were acquitted in the abovesaid case. Thereafter, when the petitioners approached the 3rd respondent seeking defreezing of the bank accounts, they were informed that an order from the 2nd respondent was required.
4. Accordingly, the 1st petitioner submitted a representation to the 1st respondent on 07.04.2025 requesting defreezing of the accounts. However, the same was not considered. Subsequently, the 1st petitioner submitted further representations dated 22.11.2025 before the 2nd and 3rd respondents, but those representations have also not been considered. Hence, the present petition.
5. Mr.N.Dilipkumar, learned standing counsel, takes notice for the 3rd respondent Bank and submitted that the matter is pending before the State Police and that the Bank has no role to play in this regard.
6. Mr.A.S.Abul Kalaam Azad, learned Government Advocate (Criminal 3/5
Side), on instructions, submitted that the case in which the petitioners' son was arrayed as an accused has already ended in acquittal and therefore, they have no objection to defreezing the bank accounts of the petitioners.

In view of the above, the respondents are directed to consider the representation dated 22.11.2025 submitted by the 1st petitioner and defreeze the petitioners' bank accounts bearing Account Nos.146310105042 and 1463101013161 within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
