O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 herein not to harass the petitioners under the guise of enquiry.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that the petitioner's son namely, Praveenkumar fell in love with the third respondent. The third respondent lodged a complaint as against the petitioners claiming that they refused to accept their love and sought for an appropriate remedy and further, she had claimed that the petitioners have kept her away from their son, by detaining him in restrain unknown destination.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the first petitioner is a responsible Doctor and the second petitioner is a retired Nursing Superintendent from the Medical Department, Tamilnadu Government at Tiruchirappalli. The petitioners are actually being harassed by the respondent police by compelling them to appear before the police station in the guise of inquiry.

4.He further submitted that the son of the petitioners is a drug addict and is currently admitted in Iyengaran Faith Care Centre, a Psychiatrice/De-addiction Centre at Madurai, as inpatient. The petitioners has no objection for the police to inquire with the De-Addiction Centre.

5. This Court carefully considered the submissions made on either side and perused the material available on record.

6. Considering the nature of the dispute involved, this Court hereby direct the respondent police not to harass the petitioners in the guise of inquiry, considering the fact that the son of the petitioners has been admitted in the Iyengaran Faith Care Centre, a Psychiatrice/De-addiction Centre at Madurai.

7. However, the respondent police are at liberty to investigate with the authorities of Iyengaran Faith Care Centre, a Psychiatrice/ De-addiction Centre at Madurai, as to the fact if the son of the first petitioner is truly a drug addict and is undergoing the treatment for the addiction or if he is avoiding his responsibility as a boyfriend to the third respondent. e Page No. 3 of 5

8. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
