ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the 4th respondent to renew the passport of the petitioner, based upon his application dated 01.06.2025.

2. The petitioner was originally issued with a passport on 02.12.2015 and it has expired on 01.12.2025. At present the petitioner is employed in Saudi Arabia.
3. The petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.349 of 2016 on the file of the 5th respondent police station which has culminated in filing of the charge sheet in PRC.No.9 of 2024 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate Ilayangudi. The charge sheet has been laid on 30.08.2024.
4. In view of the pendency of the criminal case, the passport officials have not renewed the passport. Hence, the present petition.
5. In view of the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to approach the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia seeking emergency certificate to land in India. As soon as he lands in India, he shall surrender before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Ilayangudi and seek to recall the NBW that was issued by the trial Court. Thereafter, he has to seek 3/6
permission of the trial Court to go abroad. Based upon the orders to be passed by the learned trial Judge, the passport officials are directed to consider the application.
6. With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
