ORDER
The petitioners seek to quash the impugned charge sheet in S.C.No.55 of 2025 on the file of the Sessions Judge for Trial of Cases under SC/ST (POA) Act, Kanyakumari District at Nagercoil, which was filed for the offences under Section 3(1) of TN Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act, 1992, Sections 3(2)(va), 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) of SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, Section 131, 191(2), 191(3), 296(b), 351(3) of BNS and Section 4 of TN Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002. 2/6

The allegation in the impugned final report is that the petitioners threw stones at the defacto complainant and others, when they were witnessing the procession during Vinayagar Chadurthi celebrations and caused damage to the vehicles on the defacto complainant's vehicle and two other vehicles, which were parked on the road and thus committed the aforesaid offences.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners and the second respondent have now entered into a compromise and decided to give a quietus to the entire dispute. The parties have filed a joint compromise memo dated 27.11.2025.
4. The learned Government Advocate, on instructions, would submit that the compensation has been received by the defacto complainant from the Government.
5. It is also reported that since the compromise has been arrived at between the parties, the compensation received by the defacto complainant for a sum of Rs.90,000/- has now been refunded to the account of Aadidravidar Welfare Department.

6. The petitioners and the second respondent, namely, R.Dasammal (Aadhar No.7433 6048 9049) are present before this Court in person. They are identified by Mr.A.Sahayaraj, Special Sub Inspector of Police, Aralvoimozhi Police Station, Kaniyakumari District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.
7. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served in keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned charge sheet in S.C.No.55 of 2025 on the file of the Sessions Judge for Trial of Cases under SC/ST (POA) Act, Kanyakumari District at Nagercoil, is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. The joint compromise memo dated 27.11.2025 shall form part of this order. The petitioners shall pay a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) as costs to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench forthwith and file a photocopy of the receipt along with a memo reporting compliance in the Registry. 28.11.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes/ No Indu 4/6
