PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of mandamus directing the first respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 by obtaining a report from the fourth respondent as directed by the second respondent vide his communication dated 13.10.2025 and further direct him to ensure that the aforesaid lands are being exclusively utilized only for the public purpose such as construction of College, Community Hall, Library, Playground and Children Park etc., in the petitioner's village.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN, J.] This writ petition is filed as a Public Interest Litigation seeking for a direction of this Court to the respondents by way of mandamus to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 22.09.2025 objecting the proposal of the Government to allot the poramboke land to the landless poor people / Scheduled Cast people under a Scheme.

2. According to the petitioner, his Village consisting of 75 members requires a College, and therefore, the land proposed to be allotted to the landless poor people must be used for constructing College.

3. This Court finds no merit in this writ petition. We also have serious reservation about the intention of the petitioner. However, without deliberating much on that, seeing no public interest involved in this writ petition, which is in the nature of questioning the public policy of the Government, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
