O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to subdivide and issue a separate patta in favour of the petitioner in respect of the land in Survey No.205, measuring an extent of 0.67.00 Hectares, situated at Paluvanji North Village, Manapparai Taluk, Tiruchirappalli District, on the basis of the petitioner's Application No.2025/0105/15/439587 dated 04.11.2025, within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner purchased the subject property on 29.09.2025 from one Nagarajan, who had acquired the same by way of succession and had been in possession and enjoyment thereof; that a joint patta also stood in the name of the petitioner's vendor; that after purchase of the property, the Page No. 2 of 5

petitioner submitted an application for subdivision and issuance of patta in his name, which was returned by the respondents for rectification of defects; that after rectifying the defects, the petitioner again submitted an application on 04.11.2025 along with the necessary charges; that however, the said application has been kept pending without any progress before the second respondent; and that therefore, the petitioner was constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's application dated 04.11.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of twelve weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 04.11.2025 on its merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The application shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is also Page No. 3 of 5

directed to provide a reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and any other interested parties who may be affected by the decision. There shall be no order as to costs.
