the same as it was on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 14.11.2025.

By relying on the patta in the name of the petitioner's late husband, Ayyavu, the petitioner had applied for cancellation of the patta issued in the names of only 3 legal heirs.

2. Learned Special Government Pleader accepts notice for respondents 1 to 3. He submits that an inquiry would be conducted after issuing notice to all the legal heirs of the late Ayyavu.

3. The patta stands in the names of Raja, Alangar and Alagammal. As per the legal heirship certificate, the said Ayyavu was succeeded by eight surviving legal heirs. Therefore, it is necessary to issue notice to all the legal heirs of late Ayyavu before a decision is taken. 2/4

Subject to the above observations, this Writ Petition is disposed of by directing the Revenue Divisional Officer to consider the petitioner's request for cancellation of patta and to pass orders thereon on merits after providing a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and to all the legal heirs of the late Ayyavu, including the fourth respondent. Because no opinion has been expressed on the merits and in view of the direction to provide a reasonable opportunity to the fourth respondent or her legal heirs, this Writ Petition is disposed of without notice to the fourth respondent.
