(By G.R.SWAMINATHAN, J.) The petitioner herein filed W.P.(MD)No.26871 of 2023 for removing the encroachments said to have been committed in S.Nos.188/96 and 188/97 in Manapadaiveedu Village, Palayamkottai Taluk. The writ petition was disposed of on 08.11.2023. Contending that the direction given in the writ petition has not been complied with, this contempt petition has been filed.

2.We called upon the jurisdictional Tahsildar to conduct field inspection and file status report. The alleged encroacher is also before us. Too many factual aspects are involved. We are therefore of the view that the writ petition could not have been disposed of without notice to the alleged encroacher. We, therefore, permit Dhatchanamoorthy / seventh respondent in the writ petition to file a review application. If the review application is filed within two weeks from today ie., 09.02.2026, it shall be numbered without reference to limitation. The rights of the parties will abide by the outcome of the review application. We record the undertaking of Dhatchanamoorthy that he will maintain status quo till the review application is disposed of. The authorities shall also stay their hands till the disposal of the review application. 3.This contempt petition is closed accordingly. Consequently, connected sub application is closed.
