ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents herein to grant permission and protection to conduct a bullock cart race on 06.12.2025 in the petitioner's village, namely Jampulingapuram, Ottapidaram Taluk, Thoothukudi District, based on the petitioner's representations dated 15.11.2025 and 24.11.2025.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side, and perused the materials available on record.

Mr.S.S.Manoj, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, submitted that the route proposed by the petitioner to conduct the bullock cart race is not feasible, as it is a single road situated in a communally sensitive area, and several schools are also situated in the said route. Hence, it is not feasible for the second respondent police to grant permission.

4. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to submit a feasible plan before the second respondent police indicating an alternate route. Upon receipt of the same, the second respondent police is directed to consider it and pass appropriate orders forthwith.
