ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to process the petitioner's citizenship application based on his representation dated 07.05.2025 within a time limit as stipulated by this Court.

2. Mr.K.Govindarajan, learned Central Government Standing Counsel, takes notice on behalf of the respondent.

3. By consent of both the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner's citizenship application has not been processed by the respondent. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 07.05.2025 to the respondent. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, the present writ petition has been filed. 2/4

The learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent would submit that the petitioner initially submitted the representation only to the concerned District Collector, who thereafter forwarded the same to the concerned respondent. However, the petitioner has straightaway approached this Court without properly following the prescribed procedure.

6. In view of the above, since the petitioner has straightaway submitted the representation to the respondent and has not exhausted the appropriate remedy, this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition.
