PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing to cancel the legal heir certificate bearing number 720230619769 dated 26.01.2024 on the file of 3rd respondent and conduct the fresh enquiry under Revenue Enquiries Act by considering the petitioner's representation dated 08.11.2025. 1/5

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus directing the third respondent herein to cancel the legal heir certificate dated 26.01.2024 issued for the death of one Visalakshi.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the deceased Visalakshi does not have any legal heirs and therefore, the legal heirship certificate issued in favour of one Muthu has to be cancelled. He further submits that she is the legal heir and agnate of one Visalakshi.

3. Neither the authorities nor this Court can decide who is the legal heir of the deceased Visalakshi. In case, the petitioner has got any grievance over the legal heir certificate issued by the third respondent, it is open to him to approach the competent civil Court to establish his legal rights.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
