PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent the Director General of Police / Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, Chennai to consider the petitioners pathetic physical condition and to consider his prayer to post him either at Dindigul District Jail or the nearby Madurai Central Prison as early as possible and to help the physically incapacitated employee, based on the representation dated 04.03.2025 within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

This petitioner, who is working as an Assistant Jailor at Distrial Prison, Dindigul has been transferred to Central Prison, Cuddalore District, by order, dated 25.02.2025. He has made a representation to the respondent on 04.03.2025, seeking to modify the order of transfer and to accommodate him either at District Jail, Dindigul or at Central Prison, Madurai. Since the representation of this petitioner was not considered by the respondent, he has filed this instant writ petition.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has met with an accident on 24.11.2024, for which, he has taken treatment in Nalam Hospital and AR Hospital at Madurai. For taking treatment, he has applied for medical leave. For having applied medical leave, he has been transferred to Cuddalore District.

3.Mr.S.Vinodh, learned Government Advocate, who takes notice for the respondent submits that the petitioner has been transferred from District Prison, Dindigul to Central Prison, Cuddalore, on administrative grounds and not as projected by the petitioner.

4. Since this petitioner has been transferred from one unit to another unit by way of a transfer order, on administrative grounds, this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. If the petitioner is having any valid grounds, it is open to the petitioner to challenge the order of transfer, in the manner known to law.
