PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation and grant the new service connection to the petitioner's newly constructed house based on the petitioner's online application No.2000709911251192 dated 04.11.2025.

ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the TANGEDCO for providing the service connection to the newly constructed house of the petitioner based upon his application dated 04.11.2025.
2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the TANGEDCO is not providing the service connection due to the objection raised by the 4th respondent. Therefore, this Court has ordered notice to the 4th respondent. Mr.S.Manohar, the learned standing counsel has appeared for the 4th respondent.

3. According to the learned standing counsel appearing for the 4th respondent, the entire land is kattalai land and therefore, the service connection cannot be granted to the writ petitioner without any specific permission from the 4th respondent.

However, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the 4th respondent Temple has filed a suit in O.S.81 of 2009 on the file of the Additional District Munsif Court, Tenkasi, seeking a prayer for declaration of title and recovery of possession as against one S.Lingadurai. The said suit came to be dismissed on 01.08.2014. The said judgment and decree has attained finality. From the said Lingadurai, one Balamurugan has purchased S.No.708/1 and from the said Balamurugan, the petitioner has purchased the property. Therefore, according to him, there cannot any legal impediment for providing domestic service connection to the writ petitioner's house.
5. Considering the above said facts, the respondents 1 to 3 herein are directed to provide the service connection to the writ petitioner on filing of fresh application. It is for the 4th respondent to proceed in accordance with law for evicting the petitioner.

6. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
