ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned 1st Additional District and Session Court (PCR), Thanjavur, to accept the surrender of the petitioner and consider his bail application on the same day in Crime No. 138 of 2025, on the file of the 3rd respondent police.

2. Considering the nature of the relief sought for, notice to the 4th respondent is dispensed with.

3. The case of the prosecution is that on 12.06.2025, the petitioner and others assaulted the de facto complainant and his brother-in-law at the 1st accused's shop, using casteist slurs and physical violence. The incident occurred due to a dispute over delayed food parcels. Based on these allegations, an FIR has been 2/5

registered under BNS offences and the SC/ST Act against the petitioner.

4. Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

5. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for, this Court hereby direct the learned 1st Additional District and Session Court (PCR), Thanjavur, to issue prior notice to the de facto complainant and thereafter to consider the bail application of the petitioner on the same day of his surrender before that Court in connection with Crime No.138 of 2025 on the file of the 3rd respondent police.
