O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN, J.] The petitioner herein filed W.P.(MD)No.18015 of 2018, seeking Mandamus to direct the second respondent to implement the order dated 16.08.2018 and to remove the encroachment in the channel situated in S.No.268/1 & 2 Ward 'D' Block 1 between the Periya Kanmai and Lakshmipuram Tank in Ramanathapuram district. This Court, on considering the representation, disposed of the Writ Petition on 16.08.2018 directing the respondents to take appropriate action within a period of four weeks.

2.Alleging that the said direction not been complied with by the respondents, contempt petition is filed on 01.12.2025, nearly about 7 years after the said order. Despite inordinate delay in filing the contempt petition to ensure whether the direction was acted upon, this Court directed the Government Pleader to get status report.

3.The photographs of the channel before removal of encroachment and after removal of encroachment produced before this Court. On perusing the photographs, we are satisfied that the encroachment on the channel been removed. If any other structure is available in the channel, it does not cover under writ petition and hence, we are not inclined to pass any order in this Contempt Petition except to dismiss it. 2.Accordingly, this Contempt Petition stands dismissed.
