This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first to sixth respondents to conduct a detailed enquiry and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 02.07.2024 within a time period to be stipulated by this Court.
2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. Page No. 2 of 6

The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner's property, measuring an extent of 14.59 cents, was acquired under the Tamil Nadu Acquisition of Land for Industrial Purposes Act, 1997 for the erection of a Thermal Power Station. Proper compensation was not fixed by the acquisition authority. Though the petitioner approached the authorities seeking enhancement of compensation, no orders were passed and no compensation has been paid to the petitioner. Finally, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 02.07.2024 seeking fixation of compensation under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, which did not evoke any response. Therefore, the petitioner was constrained to file the present Writ Petition.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 02.07.2024 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of eight weeks.
5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a Page No. 3 of 6
direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 02.07.2024 on its merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The second respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner before passing any order on merits. There shall be no order as to costs.
