ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.10.2025 for effecting necessary changes in the petitioner's Employees' Pension Scheme Certificate No.MDMU00056507, based on the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Notification dated 16.05.2018, and to issue a revised Employees' Pension Scheme Certificate by changing the petitioner's name from ''S.Karuppasammi'' to ''R.S.Uthaya Sankar'', within the time period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he is the holder of Employees' Pension Scheme Certificate No.MDMU00056507. The petitioner has officially changed his name from ''S.Karuppasammi'' to ''R.S.Uthaya Sankar,'' which has been duly published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette dated 16.05.2018. In order to reflect the correct name in the Employees' Pension Scheme Certificate, the

petitioner submitted a representation dated 29.10.2025 to the respondent seeking necessary corrections. Despite the submission of the representation along with valid supporting documents, the respondent has not taken any action to effect the requested change or issue a revised certificate. The respondent is bound to consider the petitioner's representation and effect the correction in accordance with law. The inaction of the respondent has compelled the petitioner to approach this Court.

4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submits that the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed on merits and in accordance with law.

5. Recording the aforesaid submission, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 29.10.2025, and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
