Respondents PRAYER :-Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to conduct survey, sub-division and issue separate patta in respect of the petitioners properties of land in Sy.Nos.1180/1 and 1180/3 to the extent respectively of 0.22.66 Hectares and 0.25.90 Hectares situated at Sivalarkulam, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District by considering the petitioner's application dated 14.10.2025 vide Application No.2025/0105/34/374975 within a stipulated period as framed by this Court.

This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to conduct survey, sub-division and issue separate patta in respect of the petitioners properties of land in Sy.Nos.1180/1 and 1180/3 to the extent respectively of 0.22.66 Hectares and 0.25.90 Hectares situated at Sivalarkulam, Alangulam Taluk, Tenkasi District by considering the petitioner's application dated 14.10.2025 vide Application No.2025/0105/34/374975 within a stipulated period as framed by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents. By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3. The petitioner submits that he owns property in four survey numbers and earlier representation was given to the respondents for the purpose of survey of the land and issuance of patta. The grievance of the petitioner is that out of four survey numbers, only two survey numbers were surveyed and the remaining two remains unsurveyed. 2/5

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader submits that once an application was filed for the four survey numbers, all of them have been surveyed. If at all there is any grievance, the petitioner has to approach the appropriate authorities by filing an appeal or revision as contemplated under Section 12(a) and 12(b) of the Survey and Boundaries Act.

5. In the event of conducting survey for the survey numbers 1180/1 and 1180/3 on an earlier application made, the cause in the writ petition would not survive. It is for the petitioner to approach the competent authority by filing an appeal. However, in the event of the authorities not surveying the above said survey numbers, when an application was made earlier, the same shall be looked into. Needless to say, the exercise shall be completed within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. With the said observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
