Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus or order or direction in the nature of writ, forbearing the respondents 1 to 6 herein from in any manner to extend temple honours to any person on 03.12.2025 and on any other date in connection with the Thiruvizha of Arulmigu Kalyana Vinayagar Temple, situated at Perungudi Village, Madagupatti Post, Sivagangai District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 01.12.2025.

ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents 1 to 6 herein from, in any manner, extending temple honours to any person on 03.12.2025 or on any other date in connection with the Thiruvizha of Arulmigu Kalyana Vinayagar Temple, situated 2/6

at Perungudi Village, Madagupatti Post, Sivagangai District, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 01.12.2025 .

2. At the time of admission, this Court passed an interim order directing the police to ensure that no untoward incident occurs with regard to the granting of first honour to any person and to report the same before this Court.

3. It is represented that the petitioner and respondents 7 to 9 did not receive the honour. However, the petitioner and respondents 7 to 9 claim entitlement to the 'Kadavaraya Thevar honour'. It is further stated that only the petitioner and the 9th respondent are entitled to the said honour and that they were honoured in previous years.

4. Further, it is seen that there are eight groups involved. Since the issues pertain to civil rights, the petitioner and the 9th respondent are at liberty to approach the competent civil court seeking appropriate relief with regard to the honour. Moreover, the temple festival has already concluded.

5. With these directions, this writ petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 05.12.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes/No Internet : Yes KSA Note : Issue a copy of order on 12.01.2026 4/6
