O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking a direction to the trial Court to pass final order in Crl.M.P.No.3596 of 2025 in C.C.No.20 of 2018 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate Court, Vadipatti, which was filed for the offences under Section 498(a) against the petitioner based on the complaint given by his second wife.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the case in C.C.No.20 of 2018 was posted for arguments on 04.01.2025. Thereafter, the respondent Police have not taken any steps to argue the case on merits. When the matter was pending for arguments on the side of the prosecution, the respondent Police has filed an application in Crl.M.P.No.3596 of 2025 seeking for further investigation on the ground that the petitioner married the complainant without getting divorce from the first wife. Despite the conclusion of arguments, the said application is kept pending by the trial court for more than 10 hearings. Hence, the present petition came to be filed.

3.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court hereby directs the Judicial Magistrate Court, Vadipatti, to pass final order in Crl.M.P.No.3596 of 2025 in C.C.No.20 of 2018, forthwith.

4.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above directions.
