...Contemnor/ Respondents 1 to 4 PRAYER: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971, praying this Court to punish the Contemnors/respondents 1 to 4 for their wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P(MD)No.17081 of 2025, dated 14.08.2025.

O R D E R

(Order of the Court was made by DR.G.JAYACHANDRAN) This Contempt Petition has been filed alleging violation of the orders passed by this Court in W.P(MD)No.17081 of 2025, dated 14.08.2025,wherein, it is observed that enforcement action since commenced, no further orders are required and a direction was also given to the authorities to ensure that the encroachments already identified are to be removed as expeditiously as possible. 2/5

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.Status report of the third respondent perused. Out of four distinct constructions in the public lane, two of them were removed and two of them yet to be removed.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 submits that un-removed portion of the construction on the public lane, if removed, the entire structure is likely been damaged. Further, the occupants of those two unremoved portion has already preferred appeal before the District Collector under Section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act.

5.Recording the same, the Contempt Petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent/Contemnor /The District Collector, Sivagangai District before whom the appeal is pending, to dispose of the same within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
