COMMON ORDER These petitions are filed seeking to direct the respondent not to harass the petitioner on the guise of enquiry. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the Managing Trustee of Madurai Geriatric Care Foundation, which is a registered Trust engaged in caring the senior citizens, and that the petitioners are genuine social workers. In the present matter, the petitioners had genuinely advised and guided the defacto complainant on the legal procedure for undergoing kidney transplantation. In this regard, the de facto complainant had lodged a complaint against one Karthik, who had no connection whatsoever with the petitioners. However, the respondent police are continuously harassing the petitioners under the guise of summoning them for enquiry. Hence, the learned counsel sought the indulgence of this Court. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the second respondent/de facto complainant categorically contended that it was not Karthik alone, 2/5

who had received an amount of Rs.25,00,000 for the purpose of purchasing a kidney, but that the petitioners were also involved in the said transaction along with Karthik.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), on instructions, submitted that the matter is only at a preliminary stage of enquiry and that no First Information Report has been registered so far against anyone, including the petitioner.

5.In view of the above, if the petitioners are innocent, they can very well appear before the police, cooperate with the enquiry, and give their statements in writing, and the police shall look into the matter in a genuine manner.

6.With the above directions, these Criminal Original Petitions are disposed of.
