R4 is suo-motu impleaded as per the order of this Court dated 12.12.2025 in WP Crl(MD).No.2526 of 2025 PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to register the case against the accused persons based on the petitioner's complaint dated 03.12.2025 and consequently direct the 3rd respondent to give a police protection to the petitioner's wife and family members.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to register a case against the accused persons based on the petitioner's complaint dated 03.12.2025 and, consequently, to direct the 3rd respondent to provide police protection to the petitioner's wife and family members.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) submitted that respondents 1 to 3 have stated that the complaint pertains to a special economic offence and, therefore, a request such as police protection 2/5

would not be entertained by them. It was further submitted that the matter falls within the jurisdiction of the local police station, namely, Devakottai Police Station.

3. In view of the above, this Court suo motu impleads the Inspector of Police, Devakottai Police Station, Devakottai, as the 4th respondent. The petitioner is directed to submit a fresh complaint to the 4th respondent within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Upon receipt of such complaint, the 4th respondent shall take the same on file, conduct necessary enquiry and investigation in accordance with law, and provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members. If a prima facie case is made out, the same shall be dealt with in the manner known to law.

4. In view of the above directions, this Writ Petition (Criminal) is disposed of.
