ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to grant patta in respect of the property in Survey No.411/2, Kanapadi Village, Vedasandur Taluk, based on the registered sale deed in Document No.1800 of 2003 dated 20.10.2003, on the file of the Sub-Registrar, Vadamadurai, taking into consideration the petitioner's SubDivision Patta Transfer Application No.2025/0105/13/512281 dated 23.10.2025, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the lawful owner of the property in Survey No.411/2, Kanapadi Village, Vedasandur Taluk, by virtue of the registered sale deed in Document No.1800 of 2003 dated 20.10.2003, registered on the file of the Sub-Registrar, Vadamadurai. The petitioner has submitted Sub-Division Patta Transfer Application No.

2025/0105/13/512281 dated 23.10.2025, seeking mutation and issuance of patta in his name.

4. It is submitted that despite the lawful claim, the second respondent has not taken action to grant the patta. The petitioner therefore seeks a direction to the second respondent to grant the patta in his name within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, in accordance with law.

5. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents submits that the petitioner's application will be considered on its merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 23.10.2025, on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The application shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to

the petitioner and also to the other persons, who may be affected by such decision. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court.
