ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take necessary steps to measure the land and fix the four boundaries in respect of the land comprised in S.F.No.229/15, measuring an extent of 0.53.0 hectares, situated at Kulathulvaipatti Village, Ettayapuram Taluk, Thoothukudi District, belonging to the petitioner, based on the petitioner's representation dated 18.08.2025, within a stipulated time and in accordance with law.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

According to the petitioner, she is the absolute owner and in lawful possession of the land comprised in S.F.No.229/15 measuring an extent of 0.53.0 hectares, situated at Kulathulvaipatti Village, Ettayapuram Taluk, Thoothukudi District. For the purpose of proper identification, measurement, and fixation of boundaries, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 18.08.2025 to the respondents requesting survey and demarcation of the said land. However, the

respondents have failed to take any action on the said representation. The inaction on the part of the respondents is arbitrary, unreasonable, and contrary to law. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to measure the land and fix the four boundaries within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents submitted that proper steps would be taken to demarcate the land in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Survey and Boundaries Act, 1923.

Recording the aforesaid submission, this Court directs the respondents to consider the online representation of the petitioner, dated 18.08.2025, demarcate the petitioner's land after considering the claims of the petitioner as well as the adjacent land owners and also the interested persons, if any and pass orders in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Survey and Boundaries Act, 1923, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
