This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to conduct an enquiry and Page No. 1 of 5

pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2024, given to the first respondent, within the time frame.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner purchased a property forming part of Town Survey Nos.32 and 33, measuring an extent of 1.65 cents; that after obtaining approval from the Virudhunagar Municipal Corporation, the petitioner constructed a house on the said property bearing Door No.19/39/2l; that on 24.06.2023, the petitioner made an online application for transfer of patta; that since no action was taken thereon, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 10.12.2024 to the first respondent, who, in turn, vide communication dated 13.12.2024, directed the second respondent to conduct an enquiry and issue patta to the petitioner based on eligibility; that however, till date, no action has been taken by the second respondent, and therefore, prays for a direction to the second respondent to conduct enquiry and pass appropriate orders as per the direction of the first respondent and issue patta in his favour.

4. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents submits that the petitioner's request will be considered on its merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to conduct enquiry and pass appropriate orders as per the direction of the first respondent on the petitioner's representation dated 10.12.2024 on its merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is also directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and to any others who may be affected by such decision. There shall be no order as to costs.
