ORDER
This criminal original petition has been filed seeking to transfer the investigation in Crime No.401 of 2025 from the 2nd respondent police to some other police station or to CBCID,Thoothukudi or any investigating Officer or to some other impartial investigation agency.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that with respect to the suspicious death of the petitioner's son, a case in Crime No.401 of 2025 came to be registered by the 2nd respondent police. However, there is no progress in the investigation and sought for transfer of the investigation.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police, on instructions, submitted that this is not a case of murder, and that the deceased was allegedly addicted to alcohol and had died by suicide. The postmortem report also reveals that there are no external injuries. The investigating officer is presently awaiting the viscera report. Pending receipt of the same, the present petition has been filed.
4. In view of the aforesaid submission made, this Court directs the first respondent to monitor the investigation conducted by the second respondent. 2/4
Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed with a direction to the second respondent to appraise the progress of the investigation to the first respondent every Friday.
