ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking to quash the proceedings in C.C. No.74 of 2025 pending on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Ambasamudram, Tirunelveli District.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner had sent several messages to the de facto complainant on multiple occasions, insisting to meet him. Unable to withstand the continuous communication from the petitioner over the mobile phone, the de facto complainant agreed to meet him near Ambasamudram Bus Stand. However, to the shock of the petitioner, she allegedly arrived at the spot along with her husband. The prosecution further alleges that the petitioner assaulted the husband of the de facto complainant. The petitioner, however, disputes the said allegation and has sought the indulgence of this Court.

3. The learned Government Advocate emphatically submitted that such miscreants should not be allowed to escape the clutches of law and accordingly sought dismissal of this petition.

4. It is needless to state that social media has become a day-to-day menace and a source of concern for many families, and the present case is no exception. At this stage, this Court does not find any necessity to quash the charge sheet.

5. At this moment, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that already the matter has been compromised with the defacto complainant, for which purpose, the petitioner can very well approach the trial Court for appropriate remedy.

6. In view of the above observations, this criminal original petition fails and the same is dismissed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
