ORDER

This criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to preserve, disburse the CCTV footage dated 15.03.2025 from 10.30 A.M.to 1.30 P.M., at all women police station, Papanasam, Thanjavur District with regard to the enquiry and incident held on 15.03.2025 before 2nd respondent.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was attacked by her husband within the campus of the Papanasam Police Station. It was further submitted that, pursuant to the complaint given by the petitioner, CSR No.88 of 2025 was issued, only after a lapse of nine months. In the meantime, the petitioner had made a representation to the respondent police seeking preservation of the CCTV footage. However, the same was not produced. Hence, the petitioner has sought the indulgence of this Court to direct preservation of the CCTV footage dated 15.03.2025.

3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police submitted that the respondent would produce the CCTV footage to the petitioner, if the same is available.

4. Considering the request made by the petitioner, I do not find any infirmity in the same. Accordingly, the second respondent is directed to preserve the CCTV footage dated 15.03.2025, from 10:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M., at the All Women Police Station, Papanasam, Thanjavur District, and produce the same to the petitioner forthwith. This Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
