O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to transfer the investigation in Crime No.684 of 2023 from the second respondent to the third respondent or some other police agency within stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2. The matter is all about a case registered in Crime No.684 of 2023 for the offence under Section 174 Cr.P.C. with respect to the suicide committed by the minor daughter of the petitioner. The claim of the petitioner is that the girl was subjected to continuous harassment in the name of love, having been seduced to fall in love and later, the boy had refused to marry her. Due to the rejection of her boyfriend, the girl committed suicide by consuming poison. In this regard, the complaint was given and an FIR was registered in Crime No.684 of 2023. However, there is no progress in the investigation and sought for transfer of investigation. Page No. 2 of 5

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), Mr.M.Sakthi Kumar, on instructions, submitted that the girl was of the age of 16 years and the boy is of the age of 21 years. The allegations made by the counsel for the petitioner are baseless because from the very first instance, the boy had been very reluctant to accept the proposal of love from the petitioner's daughter, considering the fact that she is a minor and a student. That apart, considering the age of the boy, the boy himself was not interested in that girl. Hence, the boy cannot be held responsible in any way for the decision of the girl and sought dismissal of this petition.

4. In view of the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), I do not find any necessity to transfer the investigation. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 15.12.2025 NCC : Yes/No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No apd Page No. 3 of 5
