PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first and second respondents to cancel the forgery documents registered by the third respondent on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 21.08.2025.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the first and second respondents to cancel the forged documents registered by the third respondent on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 21.08.2025.

2.With the consent of the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.When the Writ Petition was taken up for hearing, learned Counsel for the petitioner fairly submitted that after the striking off of Sections 77-A and 68(2) of the Registration Act, 1908, the official 2/6

respondents have no power to cancel any document, even if the same is a forged document. Therefore, he prays for appropriate orders from this Court.

4.Learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents would also submit that they have no power to conduct enquiry and even if they conduct an enquiry, they have no power to pass orders cancelling a document. He would further submit that the only remedy available to the petitioner is to approach the civil Court.

5.Heard the learned Counsel on either side.

6.As rightly pointed out by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the official respondents, the right course available to the petitioner for redressal of a grievance regarding forged document is to approach the Civil court, by challenging the said forged document. Therefore, the petitioner is granted liberty to approach the civil court to challenge the said forged document in accordance with law.
