This Writ Petition is filed seeking a Mandamus as against the respondents herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.11.2025 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

3. According to the petitioner, there is a Statue of Freedom Fighter Rengasamy INA near the State Highway situated at Mullurpattikadu Revenue Village, Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District. However, in view of expansion of State Highway, some persons have been trying to remove the statue from that place. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation on 24.11.2025 seeking to take necessary steps to erect the Freedom Fighter Statue at the adjacent land to the State 2/4

Highway without disturbing to any public. However, no steps have been taken by the respondents till date. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4 would submit that they are not taking any steps to remove the statue. He further submits that in the event, if it is required, they will remove the Statue and the same will be reinstalled in the place identified by the authorities concerned.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court is of the view that to give respect to the Freedom Fighters, the statue was installed and if the statue of Freedom Fighter is removed due to expansion of the highway, the authorities have to reinstall the statue with the same respect in the place identified by the authorities concerned.

6. With the above observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. 16.12.2025 vsm 3/4
