ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to survey the petitioner's land and fix the boundaries in Survey No.256/1 to an extent of 3 acre 43 cents situated at Krishnapuram Village, Palayamkottai Taluk, Tirunelveli District, based on the petitioner's application dated 11.11.2025 within the stipulated time to be fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he is in possession and enjoyment of the subject property. He has submitted an application dated 11.11.2025 requesting the respondents to survey the land in Survey No.256/1, measuring 3 acres 43 cents, situated at Krishnapuram Village, Palayamkottai Taluk, Tirunelveli District, and to fix the boundaries. Despite the application, the respondents have not carried out the survey or demarcation of the land boundaries. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the subject property was recorded in the UDR 'A' Register in the name of the petitioner's grandfather. He further submits that, upon the petitioner furnishing adequate proof to show that the property has devolved upon him, appropriate steps would be taken.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to provide adequate proof demonstrating that the subject property has devolved upon him. Thereafter, the first respondent shall consider the petitioner's application dated 11.11.2025 on its merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders as expeditiously as possible. The application shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The first respondent is directed to provide a reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and to any other persons who may be affected by the decision. There shall be no order as to costs.
