ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to issue individual patta in the petitioners' names to an extent of 4.37 acres of land, situated in S.No.486/2, Vickramasingapuram Village, Ambasamudram Taluk, Tirunelveli District, based upon the registered Sale Deed dated 22.04.2009 by considering the petitioners' representation dated 12.09.2025, within the time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

According to the petitioners, they are the absolute owners of the land measuring an extent of 4.37 acres comprised in Survey No. 486/2, situated at Vickramasingapuram Village, Ambasamudram Taluk, Tirunelveli District, having purchased the same under a registered Sale Deed dated 22.04.2009. Despite the lawful purchase and long-standing possession, the petitioners have not been issued individual patta in respect of the subject property. In order to regularize the revenue records, the petitioners submitted a detailed representation dated 12.09.2025 to the second respondent requesting issuance of individual patta. The

petitioners have complied with all statutory requirements and produced all relevant documents, including the registered sale deed. However, the second respondent has failed to consider and pass orders on the said representation, thereby necessitating the filing of the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioners' representation will be considered on its merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 12.09.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The second respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and also to the other persons, who may be affected by such decision.
