ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue patta in respect of the property comprised in old S.No.52, new S.No.372/8, situated at Sinthalavaadampatti Village, by specifying the extent as 980 square feet instead of 635 square feet, by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 22.11.2025, within such time as may be stipulated by this Court.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in possession and enjoyment of the subject property to an extent of 980 sq.ft. based on a settlement deed dated 07.04.1992. However, the second respondent has issued patta only in respect of an extent of 635 sq.ft.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that, firstly, the petitioner has no right over the said property
and that, based on the enquiry conducted, as the petitioner is in possession of only 635 sq.ft., patta was accordingly issued to that extent.
5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties.
6. The petitioner has submitted a representation after paying the requisite fee. Upon such application being filed, it is incumbent upon the respondents to consider and dispose of the same in accordance with the law and the Rules in force.
7. With the above observation, this Writ Petition stands disposed of, directing the respondents to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 22.11.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested persons, if any, and pass appropriate orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
