PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent herein to renew/ re-issue the passport of the petitioner submitted to the 1st respondent vide application No.MD1075568834725 dated 01.09.2025 without any further delay and within a reasonable time as may be fixed by this Court. 1/4

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the first respondent to reissue the passport of the petitioner based upon his application dated 01.09.2025.

2. The learned Government Advocate(crl.side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of the Court that the petitioner has been implicated in a criminal case in Cr.No.127of 2025 on the file of the respondent police which has culminated in filing of the charge sheet before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi, on 17.10.2025. However, so far the charge sheet has not been taken on file.

3. In view of the above said facts, the petitioner is directed to approach the trial Court concerned seeking the permission of the said Court to go abroad. In case, if any such application is filed, the same shall be disposed of by the Magistrate concerned within a period of four weeks. Based upon the orders to be passed by the Magistrate concerned, the first respondent is directed to proceed in accordance with law.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
