ORDER

The petitioner is the wife of one S.Baktavatchalam, who was the employee of the respondent Transport Corporation. He joined as a Driver in the respondent Transport Corporation on 02.12.1999 and he retired from service as Selection Grade Driver on 30.06.2022. Thereafter, he died on 08.11.2022. The petitioner with a grievance that though her husband had surrendered his earned leave of 135 days while he was in service, the respondent has not paid the salary for the same, has submitted a representation to the respondent on 10.11.2025 and has filed this writ petition for a direction to the respondent to pay the salary for the earned leave surrendered by her husband.

2. Mr.S.C.Herold Singh, learned counsel takes notice on behalf of the respondent and submits that they would consider the case of the petitioner and pay the eligible leave salary if any. 2/4

Since the petitioner claims that the respondent has not paid the salary for the earned leave surrendered by her husband, the respondent shall consider the case of the petitioner and pay the eligible amount, if already not paid, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, together with interest at 6% p.a.

4. With the above direction, this writ petition is allowed. No costs.
