ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent to conclude the appeal dated 15.10.2025 filed by the petitioner in respect of Patta No.2992 Thanthonimalai Village, Melakarur, Karur District, within a time frame fixed by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the second respondent, without notice to the petitioner, changed the patta in respect of the petitioner's land. Accordingly, the petitioner filed an appeal dated 15.10.2025 before the first respondent, but the same has not yet been numbered or taken on file. It is further submitted that due to the inaction of the first respondent, the petitioner's appeal remains pending without progress, causing serious prejudice to the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner seeks a direction to the first respondent to number the appeal and to complete the enquiry proceedings thereon within a stipulated time in accordance with law.

The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner's appeal dated 15.10.2025 will be considered and disposed of as early as possible, provided the appeal papers are otherwise in order. It is further submitted that the first respondent will take appropriate action in accordance with law within a reasonable time.

5. Recording the aforesaid submission of the learned Government Advocate, this Court directs the first respondent to verify whether the petitioner's appeal dated 15.10.2025 is otherwise in order and, if so, to number the appeal and dispose of the same on merits and in accordance with law, after affording due opportunity to all the parties concerned, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
