O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to cancel the sub-division of T.S.No.20/2 in Block No.2, Mayana Salai, Kalanivasal, Karaikudi, Sivagangai District and to restore the same in the name of the petitioner.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that the land in T.S.No.20/2, measuring an extent of 0.21.66.5 hectares, belongs to the petitioner. Initially, in the Town Survey Register extract, the petitioner's name and his mother's name were entered. After the demise of the petitioner's mother, he requested deletion of his mother's name. While so, the petitioner noticed that the said property had been subdivided as T.S.Nos. 20/2 and 20/14, measuring extents of 0.12.54.5 hectares and 0.09.12.0 Page No. 2 of 5

hectare respectively. In respect of T.S.No.20/14, the names of one Saraswathi and others had been entered. Therefore, the petitioner sent a representation dated 29.09.2025 seeking cancellation of the subdivision and restoration of the property in the petitioner's name. Since the said representation did not evoke any response, the petitioner was constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 29.09.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed by the third respondent within a period of twelve weeks.

5. Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.09.2025 on its merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The third respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the Page No. 3 of 5
